Timber - A Short Animation Film

Timber, a short animated film, highlights the issues concerning deforestation. The animation follows a mystical spirit that takes the form of many various species from a bluejay, to a deer, to a human. This spirit faces the hardships and turmoil of biodiversity in a forest where trees are being cut down by humans for manufacturing purposes. At the end of the film, the lumberjacks flee after being warned by the spirit in the form of mother nature. New hope arises for the animals of the forest as a new sprout of a tree grows in the vast deserted land they once called home.

This is the work, process and finish of a short animation film I made in 2019. The animation concerns the issues and dangers of deforestation for wildlife and nature. The viewer can connect with these matters through the forest spirit, present during the clear-cutting of a forest. The spirit takes the form of a deer, bluejay and mother nature throughout the short film. Timber
